I am creating these "Yoga Extras" blog posts for those of you resonating with the public yoga classes & Yoga Teacher Trainings I am leading. Inside of these blog posts you will find extra resources that support our weekly class theme. The weekly classes I guide are themed according to the season & collective energetic "weather"--This is of course influenced by many things; for instance, not only national and global events but how masses of people are feeling about and reacting to those events. It is also influenced by space weather (see spaceweather.com) & the current movement/placement of celestial bodies ie: the sun, moon, planets, nodes, stars, etc. You can find me teaching currently at Black Swan Yoga (North-Anderson) in Austin, TX. I am on the schedule as "Erika K." Mention this webpage for a free class.
Hey all, I was told that last week's post with the 8 writing prompts inspired by Liz Gildbert's reading was accidentally deleted, so this is a partial re-post of the music, the reading & the prompts. I'm grateful you all are looking at this blog & are finding these extra resources helpful and/or inspiring. xo

These are the prompts from Last Week- The post was somehow broken/lost, but a few of you requested them to be put back up. Feel Free to leave comments here as well. I would LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU CUPCAKES!! xoxoxo
Part 1: Understanding Self and Duality
Prompt 1:Â Reflect on a moment you felt at peace with yourself. What were you doing, and what thoughts or feelings accompanied this peace?
Prompt 2: Think about a time when you faced your 'shadow'—a part of you that you're not proud of. How did it make you feel, and how did you respond to it?
Part 2: Reflective Journaling
Light Prompt:Â What qualities do you love about yourself? List them and describe how they positively affect your life and relationships.
Deep Prompt:Â Identify a part of your inner self that you often ignore or push away. Why do you think you resist this part of yourself?
Part 3: Creative Expression
Light Prompt: Create a piece that represents your 'light'—the parts of you that you're most proud of and that bring you joy. Use colors, shapes, or words that resonate with these aspects.
Deep Prompt: Now, create a piece that represents your 'shadow'—the parts of you that you struggle to accept. Think about what symbols, colors, or images could capture these aspects.
Part 4: Integration and Acceptance
Prompt:Â Imagine a conversation between your light and shadow. What would they say to each other? How could they learn to coexist more harmoniously within you?
Part 5: Guided Self-Reflection
Light Prompt:Â Envision your ideal self in a state of complete acceptance and wholeness. What does this version of you look like, and what steps can you take to move closer to this vision?
Deep Prompt:Â Reflect on the barriers that prevent you from fully embracing your shadow. What fears or beliefs are holding you back from self-acceptance?
Part 6: Commitment to Self-Growth
Prompt:Â Write a letter to yourself, committing to the journey of self-discovery and acceptance. Include promises to yourself, actions you'll take, and the compassionate words you'll remember during challenging times.
