"Yoga Extras" Resources for the wk of: Fri 6/23-6/27

I am creating these "Yoga Extras" blog posts for those of you resonating with the public yoga classes & Yoga Teacher Trainings I am leading. Inside of these blog posts you will find extra resources that support our weekly class theme. The weekly classes I guide are themed according to the season & collective energetic "weather"--This is of course influenced by many things; for instance, not only national and global events but how masses of people are feeling about and reacting to those events. It is also influenced by space weather (see & the current movement/placement of celestial bodies ie: the sun, moon, planets, nodes, stars, etc. You can find me teaching currently at Black Swan Yoga (North-Anderson) in Austin, TX. I am on the schedule as "Erika K." Mention this webpage for a free class.

Physical Focus (Peak Pose): Variations on detox part 2 (via twisting; hip, heart, major physical and energetic center opening, breathwork, inversions for lymph movement, etc.)

Philosophical: The reason for this holistic detox is to create room for the astronomically high amounts of light passing through the planet and our bodies (see: Summer solstice, Schumman Resonance, New Moon in Gemini, etc) to smooth our journeys as well as make room for this new level of consciousness coming in.

Hello Sun-bunnies!

If you, like me, are curious about larger patterns like astrological signs & you would like to see what your current horoscope is, see the bottom of the blog. I happen to have been born on July 6th, so I am coming up on my earthly birthiversary. Speaking of which, as a gift to myself I am treating me to a Dr. Joe Dispenza summit in Denver, CO., so I will be away from my regular teaching schedule June 30th-July 11th or thereabouts.

I am adding here a few videos below to help further illustrate what I was talking about last week re: The Schumman Resonance (the earth's heartbeat if you will, or the frequency of energy the planet vibrates at, which matches our own). Now, the language some people use leans on the side of the mystical (or woo!) and some on the side of the scientific. Dr. Joe is one of my favorite teachers on the planet and he says: "Science is the contemporary language of mysticism." I love this! It's why I'm working through three different academic degrees based basically on that very statement. Science and Spirit were once thought at odds. With what we now know, these can no longer be separated. They are essentially two sides of the same happens to be spoken in a masculine language (science) and the other, feminine (mysticism). If you know, you know. If this stuff seems like total hogwash to you, my hopes are that you remain perhaps curious (so as not to attach to meaning...attachment=struggle) or the very least entertained. 😂

The reading for this week was given to me by a fellow teacher-friend. The definition of Desiderata is: "things that are desired." And as our reading for the week says, our world can at times feel like a place of "confusion and drudgery," yet all is unfolding exactly as it should for a greater purpose, beyond what any of us perhaps can fully understand. And all the while it is still a beautiful world.

In Love & service, ek. xo

In the first image below you will see what is more typical of what I see when checking the planet's frequency. On Sunday & Monday, it showed something it has NEVER shown before (see bottom two images).

The first two videos are of this NEW energy the SR showed coming in just a few days ago. This is what I spoke about in class. The third video shows a spike that came in just before this new geometrical-looking recording came in.

Again, this third video below showed a spike in the SR before it turned into geometrical shapes you see in the above two videos.

As the Sun moves into Cancer from June 21st until July 22nd, a beam of light illuminates our deepest feelings and inner child wish lists. So go ahead and buy those streamers for your bike or bring back the butterfly clips of your youth. Cancer is ruled by the ever-changing Moon, and our emotions are held in this sign’s tide pool for our examination. We’re not afraid to act on them either during the Sun’s plunge through Cancer. From reparenting your inner emo kid to bringing gluten free cookies to the staff meeting, the ways that you give and receive care will be the focus of this season.

Cancer’s superpower is its intuition: the ability to read the subtle undercurrents in any room, conversation, or text message. Go ahead and put out your feelers into every situation and let your gut have the final say. Cancer is the sign that asks, “no, but how are you, really?” — piercing through idle chit-chat and superficial facades to get to the emotional truth. During Cancer season, acts such as being moved to tears by a perfume commercial or reading your bestie’s emotional status by three milliseconds of body language are par for the course. Just don’t leave your extra sensitive beloveds on read, whatever you do.

The Full Moon in Capricorn on July 3rd brings its radiant light to areas of your life where more structure is needed. It unveils the boundaries that can support our sense of safety. Like the coral reefs that provide shelter for endless fish and organisms, this lunation shines a light on the containers that will hold the tender explorations of this season. Whether it’s the safe harbor of a trusty journal, a therapist’s couch, or a daily roster of somatic practices to regulate your nervous system — be your own compassionate caregiver.

Two weeks later, the New Moon in Cancer on July 17th encourages you to plant the seeds of your passion projects, self-care practices, and initiatives of community care. Make sure that your heart is in everything that you launch at this time. Writing a list of intentions and noticing how you feel as you speak them aloud will help you hone in on the winners.

If some of your deeper needs have been neglected in the carousel of life recently, be proactive in tending to them in the coming weeks. It can be easy to get lost as you support loved ones through their kitchen sink dramas, but your own TLC should always be your first port of call. Or at least give yourself permission to send your supportive audio memos from the cocoon of your fluffiest duvet.

On July 3rd, the Full Moon in Capricorn shines a light on your public roles, professional paths, and everything in your life that’s outward facing. If a moment in the Sun draws you away from your roost, just make sure you celebrate your career wins with your chosen family when the time is right.

Plucking a bouquet of wildflowers or doing a ritual sweep of your home can further honor this time. So can taking a moment to feel the sun on your cheeks before heading into the office.

The Full Moon in Capricorn, on July 3rd, beams its light on all acts of giving and receiving. Two weeks later, on July 17th, a ritual act of clearing space will signal to the universe that you’re ready for the abundance flowing your way. Cancer & Cancer Rising

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

As the Sun enters Cancer, the wattage is cranked up in your financial world. While you’re on the hunt for that dream investor, patron, or grant, allow your gut to have the final say. Take every tingle of your spidey senses seriously before you sign on the dotted line. The mergers meant for you will never crank up the urgency or attempt to hijack your emotions with a hard sell.

The Full Moon in Capricorn, on July 3rd, urges a pause in your wheeling and dealing so you can bask in some serious pampering. If the act of asking for help has ruffled the feathers of your nervous system, block out time for a bath and loofah scrub in the moonlight, or a few hours to wander the flea markets for that antique mirror that is meant for you — and only you.

On July 17th, over the New Moon in Cancer, a potent reset is available in all patterns of giving and receiving — especially if you celebrate the riches close at hand. By sending off your applications from a place of gratitude, this energy will be received.
