I am creating these "Yoga Extras" blog posts for those of you resonating with the public yoga classes & Yoga Teacher Trainings I am leading. Inside of these blog posts you will find extra resources that support our weekly class theme. The weekly classes I guide are themed according to the season & collective energetic "weather"--This is of course influenced by many things; for instance, not only national and global events but how masses of people are feeling about and reacting to those events. It is also influenced by space weather (see spaceweather.com) & the current movement/placement of celestial bodies ie: the sun, moon, planets, nodes, stars, etc. You can find me teaching currently at Black Swan Yoga (North-Anderson) in Austin, TX. I am on the schedule as "Erika K." Mention this webpage for a free class.
Physical Focus (Peak Pose): Upon request, we will work our way into Archer Dolphin after a strong, slow, grounding flow.
Philosophical: Poet/Prophet Rumi writes: "The moment you accept the troubles you have been given, the door opens." Now, I had a bit of trouble "accepting" the word "accept." I had to replace the word with "respect." I can respect my "troubles" now (at least part of the waking day) because I realized that my past "troubles" (my deepest angst and pain) is what carved my heart into the incredible vessel it feels like today. Now, sometimes I get pissed off at these "troubles," and it's at this time that the yoga for me is the practicing cultivating Self-sovereignty or Self-respect. Big words! How, Erika? These are my thoughts in the moment: by taking small, gentle, new, disciplined action. Action that supports our greater good in the long run creates self trust AND that much spoken-of though often illusive idea of self Love. (See both the podcast & vid below hear more of what I'm getting at).
The astrological atmosphere continues this week to be intensely wild, though each of us are experiencing this intensity in different ways according to our various life paths and decision-making along those paths. I myself recently made some big requests of the All-Intelligent Universe/Consciousness & very shortly thereafter I began to question all areas of my current life. The big question guiding every decision of my world right now: is this situation/decision in line with my heart's greatest desire? All feels as if it's crumbling down and this has been both frightening-feeling as well as relieving/exciting. There too is grief, knowing I will be leaving behind what I have outgrown. For those of you feeling similarly, may we continue to lean into ease, trust, gratitude for prayers answered/what is, while we continue to take the best possible actions for ourselves in the direction of our Self-sovereignty; ie: following our solid, clear, all-knowing internal compass rather than some outside source of influence. May we continue to remember that WE are the ones we've been waiting for.
In Love & service, ek. xo

I have received a request from this recovery center a couple of times to offer to anyone with whom I interact publicly this center as a possible resource. Now, I am from Boca Raton, Florida, and am familiar with some of the recovery community and resources there. I am not directly familiar with this Boca Recovery center, but I can tell you that they reached out at a serendipitous time. If you feel so drawn to, click the pic and take a gander.
